Red fox

Red foxes were introduced in Texas in the 1800s for various hunting practices, specifically hound training. The red fox is part of the canid family, but does have some feline-like characteristics like elliptical eye pupils.

  • Red foxes can have cross phase forms which has either black and red coloration or silver.
  • Red foxes are the largest of the Vulpes species.
  • These foxes use their excellent hearing to find prey and pounce on it to pin it down.
