Striped skunk

Striped skunks have two white stripes on their back, but some individuals can have no stripes at all or have their whole back white. Striped skunks main predator is the great horned owl who has a poorly developed sense of smell and is not affected by the skunk’s musk.

  • Striped skunks give a warning before they spray by stomping their front feet.
  • Striped skunks can spray up to 15 feet away.
  • During mating sense female skunks will spray male skunks they do not like.
