Boa constrictor

These large snakes are excellent at camouflage and ambush. Boa constrictors are nocturnal and wait to for prey to get close enough for them to strike.

Fast Facts

  • After a large meal, a boa doesn't need to eat again for weeks.
  • Mother boas give birth to approximately 60 offspring.
  • They have small hook like teeth which are used to prevent prey from escape their mouths.
