The body color of the leopard gecko is commonly yellow with irregular black spots hence why they are named leopard geckos. Its tail is segmented and can fall off in use to escape predators.
- These geckos can regenerate their tail.
- Leopard geckos are polyphyodonts, meaning they are constantly replacing teeth.
- Leopard geckos cannot climb up smooth surfaces because they doe not have toe pads like most geckos.
