WELCOME TO THE AMARILLO ZOO’S READING REWARDS PROGRAM!

Guidelines
The Zoo is dedicated to helping children become informed, critically-thinking citizens who understand the importance of wildlife and conservation. To further this effort the Zoo has teamed up with the Harrington Library Consortium to offer the Amarillo Zoo’s Reading Rewards Program. This program is an exciting way to learn about animals and nature and possibly win some “Zoo-per” fun prizes.
If you’re interested in participating, please register for the program using the link below. Children ages 5-13. When your child completes 10 books and records the information in the log sheet, they will win a free child admission pass plus be entered into a drawing for 10 grand prizes! One entry per child allowed.

Book Lists
Participating in the Zoo’s Reading Program is easy! Download your registration packet below and then start reading. You can check out a book at your local library or school library. Books must be of a nature, science or wildlife theme. A suggested book list will be included in your registration packet.

Timeline
Return your log sheet to the zoo when you complete 10 books to receive your free child admission pass. All reading journal submissions are due September 1, 2019. Winners will be notified September 7 for the Grand Prize drawing.

Rewards*
Each child will receive 1 free child admission with a paid adult. All entries will be entered into a drawing for one of ten gift baskets including plush toys, games, books, and other prizes!
One free child admission pass will be mailed to you upon receiving your completed log sheet. Grand Prize winners for a Zoo gift basket will be notified by email or phone by Sept 7. Gift baskets must be picked up at the Zoo by Sept 14.

The Amarillo Zoo is located in Thompson Park. Take Hwy 287 North off of I-40, take the N. 24th Ave. exit and go West, turn right into Thompson Park and follow the signs to the Zoo parking lot.
